What is the Meaning of Soul?
![]() We all use the word soul many times. The definition of soul is heavily debated and its definition varies greatly from person-to-person, though it seems that everyone believes everyone else’s definition is wrong.
Even when we know there is something larger than us we have trouble defining it... a feeling, something we can't explain, an “aha” moment, or experiencing a sad or heavy emotion and not knowing why. These are just a few of the questions we have. The definition of soul is always open for debate. But where does this debate come from? Beliefs Some People Have About Soul ~ Soul is a thinking person who has reached the "soul level" ~ Someone who likes to think deeply in strange or mysteries ways ~ Someone who loves to be alone to contemplate and think ~ Soul is everything we live, feel, taste, smell, touch, see... even our sixth sense ~ Something we can't describe but we can feel. There comes to mind another question. Why do some men and women feel uncomfortable using the word soul? Too feminine? Not logical enough? Something we can't touch or see? There are even some in the scientific community who believe that the "gut instinct" is a real thing and it could be derived from having neurons in our stomach.
